Rangers opened up a four point gap at the top of the SPL after battling back to claim a thrilling 4-2 win over Celtic at Ibrox. The Hoops appeared to be in command when Allan McGregor's blunder gifted them a 2-1 lead at the break, but Rangers fought back superbly to seal a sweet victory over their Glasgow rivals, who had Charlie Mulgrew sent off. Samaras blasted a fierce effort over as both sides jostled for possession in a frenetic opening, but it was Rangers who took first blood as Steven Naismith (23) seized on Kelvin Wilson's scuffed clearance and drove the ball into the top corner. The spirited visitors responded with a stylish opener as Scott Brown's reverse ball allowed Gary Hooper (34) to calmly find the far corner, and Celtic soon added a comical second when Badr El-Kaddouri's (41) hopeful drive slipped through McGregor's fingers.

PLEASE DO ME A FAVOUR AND LIKE THIS VIDEO, CHEERS! After a shambolic start to his managerial career, Ally McCoist is feeling the strain without Walter Smith to hold his hand at Ibrox. The opening game of the SPL season saw McCoist ruin the championship party with his side struggling to draw with Hearts 1-1 at Ibrox. 3 days later and his first European match ends in humiliation with a 1 - 0 defeat at home to little known Swedish outfit Malmo with a certain Daniel Larsson punishing a half hearted performance from the Scottish Champions with a wonder goal at Ibrox.

↓ Please like are Facebook Page ↓ www.facebook.com Rangers came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw with Hearts as they began the defence of their SPL title in unconvincing fashion at Ibrox. The Jambos looked sharp from the off and took the lead when David Obua rose unmarked to head home Danny Grainger's 16th-minute corner. But they were made to pay for missing two glorious chances to extend their lead when Steven Naismith headed Gers level shortly after the break. The visitors, who lost central defender Andy Webster to injury after just eight minutes, took the lead when Uganda international Obua gave Allan McGregor no chance from 12 yards out.

Rangers won their first match under Ally McCoist with a comfortable 2-0 victory over St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park. Saints were undone by an angled free-kick from Lee Wallace, and Stevie Naismith (31) found enough room inside the box to dispatch his header into the corner of the net.
